The Tissue-Tearor is a rotor/stator type tissue homogenizer which can rapidly homogenize, disrupt, and emulsify samples in 0.5 - 1000 ml of liquid. Complete homogenization of tissues (muscle, liver, breast tissue, etc.) is usually achieved in ten to thirty seconds. Little, if any, heat is produced during the process.

Unlike most other Brands of rotor-stator homogenizer, THE TISSUE-TEAROR COMES COMPLETE WITH BOTH THE HIGH-SPEED MOTOR AND ONE STAINLESS STEEL PROBE OF YOUR CHOICE. • During operation, the suspended material is drawn into the bottom centimeter of the homogenizer probe by an internal rotor turning at 32,000 rpm. The material is repeatedly cycled through narrow slits located in the outer part of the probe where it is rapidly sheared and disintegrated by high frequency, mechanical action.  Little if any heat is formed in the homogenization process and probe clean up between samples is simple and fast.   An advantage if the objective is to isolate viable microorganisms from tissue or feces, rotor-stator type homogenizers will not disrupt most bacteria or yeast.
